DR. CATHERINE JAMES, DVM

Dr. James knew she wanted to be a small animal veterinarian at a very young age.  She was particularly interested in cats, their behavior and medical care.  After obtaining her Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State, she went on to work briefly at the Jackson Zoological Park.  She also joined the MS Army National Guard where she was assigned to a Military Police Company.  After a deployment in 2003, she finally attended veterinary school at Mississippi's College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2004.  Since then, she has worked as a Small Animal Veterinarian, except during her residency in Clinical Pathology that she completed in 2013.  She has worked in TX, AZ, and AL, but prefers her home state of Mississippi. 

Dr. James enjoys practicing on both dogs and cats and particularly enjoys educating people about their pets and best medical practices.  She believes that preventive care is the key to ensuring pets live a long healthy life. 

Currently, Dr. James has way too many cats, a Mixed Breed Dog named 'Maeby' and a Bernese Mountain Dog named 'Dudley', some chickens, and a few bee hives.

Her imaginary friends include various politicians and Instagram Influencers.
